Claire Pridham

Psychotherapist and Counsellor

Claire is a qualified and accredited Integrative Counsellor who believes in creating a safe and empathic space where painful issues, life difficulties or past choices that may be compromising personal growth can be explored. Her therapy specialities include counselling, psychotherapy, CBT techniques, couples counselling, young people’s counselling (18+) and group work. Claire sees counselling as a joint endeavour between counsellor and client which can offer the possibility of new ways to move forward, new perspectives and insightful awareness of inhibiting behaviours and beliefs.

Claire trained as a counsellor over 10 years ago and has worked in private practice for 7 years along with gaining experience as in house counsellor at a number of GP surgeries and Roehampton University. She has also worked at the City of London Police offering short term therapy and co-facilitated groups at The Wimbledon Guild and The Priory.

Claire has experience of an extensive range of issues including stress and anxiety, family and relationship issues, bereavement, depression, low self esteem and abuse. She works with both individuals and couples in both brief and long term therapy.

Claire has over 30 years as a Registered Nurse working in the NHS. She later trained as a counsellor, achieving a BA Hons degree in Integrative Counselling (First Class) from Middlesex University, and believes that the two professions, while intrinsically different in many ways, give her a holistic approach to her therapeutic work.
