Iain Dawson is a qualified counsellor and CTI trained Co-Active Coach. He holds a HND in Business Studies from Teesside University and a BA Hons in person-centered counselling from the Metanoia Institute. He began his journey into therapeutic work over 10 years ago, after a career in advertising, when he volunteered to be a respite carer for an autistic teenager.
As a trained coach, Iain can work with clients who wish to more actively pursue their goals, develop strategies to achieve a better quality of life. His counselling training has given him a deep understanding of psychotherapeutic theory and the experience to work with people who are overwhelmed, depressed, confused or very anxious.
Iain’s specialities include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and personal coaching. He has experience of helping people cope with trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, bullying and divorce. Iain is dyslexic, however his business career and experience have given him a perspective that helps him to work with people who struggle to be seen as potentially successful people.
