Couples counselling and anger management therapy

Couples counselling & anger management therapy - learn valuable anger management techniques to control your anger & support your relationship needs.

Couples counselling explained

Couples therapy, relationship guidance, and marriage counselling is an effective way of getting the support your relationship or marriage needs. Common issues like lack of communication between you and your partner, a betrayal in the relationship or a recent emotional trauma can all benefit from couples and relationship counselling. Anger, aggressive behaviour and negative attitudes can be some of the most difficult issues to navigate within a relationship. They can significantly impact your relationship, how you relate to one another, and create an unhealthy environment. By working with one of our trained relationship therapists we can help guide you through these challenging times. We can help you source the root of your issues and introduce positive, lasting change into your relationship.

How can anger management therapy and couples therapy help my relationship?

Everyone gets angry sometimes but for some anger and aggression can become the ‘go-to’ emotion. The goal of anger management counselling is to reduce both your emotional feelings and the physiological response that anger causes. You can’t get rid of, or avoid, the things or the people that enrage you, nor can you change them, but you can learn to control your reactions. Through learning anger management therapy techniques you can start to effectively manage destructive outbursts of rage. You’ll learn how to break out of the endless cycle of anger and feel calmer and more at ease. By working with a therapist you’ll discover and explore your causes of your anger. Only by understanding the source of your anger can you reduce the intensity with which you feel it. It then becomes much easier to control the accompanying behaviour.
“Attending couple’s therapy doesn’t necessarily always need to be about addressing immediate problems in your relationship; it can also be a proactive way to maintain a healthy relationship and mitigate against possible problems in the future.” Richard Reid - CEO, Therapist & Coaching Psychologist

“Richard took us from our lowest point in our marriage and gave us the forum and advice from which we are back on track. We are now looking forward to what amounts to a fresh beginning with each other and a huge thanks has to go to Richard for that. He made us think about and approach things differently in a way we would have never been able to do on our own.” Mark and Jenny, Kew.
