Stress management therapy

Learn how to find peace in daily struggles.

What is stress management counselling?

Stress is a response to the demands and trials of everyday life that manifests as both thoughts and feelings. Smaller everyday issues or a sudden change to your environment such as marital difficulties or bereavement can increase stress.  While small amounts of stress are easy for people to cope with, if it goes on for too long, it can overwhelm the person and cause them to feel physical and emotional distress.

Stress management therapy helps a person control their level of stress in the hope of increasing everyday well-being. Your therapist will act as your stress coach, evaluating your stress level and advising which therapies would best suit you.

How does stress management counselling help?

The ultimate goal of stress management is to help you achieve a balanced life. A life with time for work, relationships, relaxation, and fun. Your stress coach will guide you through your therapy, giving you the resilience to cope in stressful situations and meet life’s challenges head on. You’ll learn how to effectively manage your stress levels through a variety of stress management therapy techniques. You’ll begin to recognise your personal stress triggers and how to avoid/deal with them in the future. By working collaboratively, we can show you how to break the cycle of stress that you might find yourself in, feel calmer and more able to cope with stressful situations. There are a number of techniques and treatments we can use to provide you with a unique, personalised programme, ensuring you get the results you deserve. Therapy will help to clear your current stress issues and help you to handle any future problems with a lot more positivity.
“Learning to become more aware of when we feel stress and the triggers for that stress, allows us to begin to take more control of our situation. Whilst external events obviously have a strong bearing on the levels of stress that we experience, we can significantly reduce the amount of stress that we experience by learning to recognise and challenge our default thinking patterns and behaviours.” Richard Reid - CEO, Therapist & Coaching Psychologist

How we help

Our goal through stress therapy is to help you achieve a balanced life. With us, youll learn how to effectively manage your stress levels through a variety of stress management therapy techniques. At Pinnacle we’ll use a range of different therapies to treat your stress and its underlying issue rather than its symptoms. We’ll teach you coping strategies and stress management techniques to improve your well-being. Everyone has different levels of stress and different feelings about stress, but we will find the solutions to suit you, using a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and hypnotherapy, as well as psychotherapy and counselling techniques.

An stress management therapy case study

Alex was a senior level executive who was causing conflict with his colleagues due to his stress. By exploring the nature of some of these incidents, we were able to help Alex rationalise why some of the clashes had been occurring.

We helped Alex increase his awareness of the thoughts, feelings, and behaviours linked to his stress. We then helped Alex gain basic relaxation and time management skills, as well as alternative thinking patterns. After six sessions, Alex noticed a significant reduction in the number of disputes that he encountered at work. He also noticed an improvement in his levels of productivity at work and was even able to improve his sleep patterns.
